When police authority meet grief: After Latoya ‘Buju’ Bulgin’s death

Over the past three days I have gone over this video repeatedly, wondering whether I should write about the community session that occurred following the police killing of Latoya “Buju” Bulgin last week. I went back and forth with myself. I did not want to enter this conversation emotionally or carelessly because emotions are already understandably running high surrounding her death.
