The move will certainly increase competition among other stores offering similar service and with Old Harbour being the fastest growing town on the island it is clear they want a piece of the pie.

“It is very important to come to Old Harbour because as our tagline says ‘you can’t go wrong with Lucky Dollar’. It was a strategic move for us,” said Tamonie Ford, brand manager, Lucky Dollar Furniture and Appliance Store in an interview with Old Harbour News.

“We are the people’s brand and we want the people of Old Harbour to know that we want to spread our wings and offer them great service.”

Indeed, as the self-proclaimed people’s brand, Lucky Dollar prides itself in, offering a wide range of brands, bargains and special deals. Its most recent addition to its catalogue of brands is the AKT bikes.

At its grand opening on South Street, Old Harbour, customers had the benefit of 30% off on select items, but can still capitalise on its March Ova Lucky Promotion for the entire month of March with special discounts on offer of up to 50% off on select items.

According to Ford, buyers will have the extra protection of its Super Shield warranty which provides insurance coverage up to 40 months after purchasing an item.

“I mean you can come in and get quality products, furniture, appliances and electronics; and we are here to cover them with warranty, they can get credit and we just want the people to know that we are spreading our wings and Old Harbour can’t be left out of the race,” she added.

“Customers can access quality after sale service. So we service what we sell in and out of warranty.”

Lucky Dollar Furniture and Appliance Store is a sister company of Courts managed by the Unicomer Group.

Unicomer manages more than 30 brands of retail chains in 24 countries across the globe and is always seeking new markets and opportunities to grow.

“Lucky Dollar is always looking to expand, to diversify,” said Ford of the company that also offers cash loans to its customers.
