In the midst of yesterday's bizarre and mysterious car accident that claimed the lives of religious cult leader Kevin O. Smith and police constable Orlando Irons, a detailed accident report from the police is still missing.

For as is the norm such a report, at the very least a preliminary one too at that, should be available via the media to add clarity and provide a better understanding of how the accident unfolded about 9:30 am on October 25 along the Bog Walk Bypass.

Therefore the question must be asked of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) why such a report isn't available 24 hours later?

Yes, we know a thorough investigation is of absolute and paramount importance which should provide finer details into the true cause of this crash. However, the absence of a preliminary report clarifying how the left-hand side of the unmarked police vehicle transporting Mr. Smith was rammed in on such a narrow stretch of road, would have surely provided the public with a better understanding of how this crash unfolded.

Instead the, JCF's vague verbiage from the lips SSP Stephanie Lindsay, head of the constabulary communications unit (CCU), only serve to obfuscate the whole incident thus, while feeding into a long list of conspiracy theories surrounding Smith's death.

Even our colleagues in mainstream media apparently caught up in the mystifying wind of how Smith departed this life, totally forgot to ask the authorities how this fatal crash occurred and what about the status of the conditions of the other occupants in the other vehicles involved. A fundamental and serious oversight by journalistic standards especially when it comes to matters of this nature.

Any other car accident, we can almost say with certainty, the public would have heard already, albeit preliminary, of the probable cause or causes. But for some reason unknown to us, this accident is still a mystery.

We know of who, we know what, we know where, and we know when about this accident. But no one seems to know how. How comes? What about the driver of the other vehicles? They should be able to say what happen.

Some things are stranger than fiction and the death of the Pathways International Kingdom Restoration Ministries leader certainly fits into this classification for now until the JCF can tell us otherwise.

We all await the accident report, JCF.
