Investigators confirmed that formal charges were laid last week against 28-year-old Sheldon Brown otherwise called ‘Twelve’ and Gregory Henry, 20, also known as ‘Baba Roots’.

The men were charged after they visited the Old Harbour Police Station with their attorneys, as detectives intensify its probe three months on.

Following a question and answer session in the presence of their lawyers, the accused men were charged with wounding with intent, possession of a prohibited weapon and being part of a criminal organization.

According to police investigations, about 12 midnight on the day in question, Brown and Henry were among a group of four armed men who attacked another man known as ‘Hamster’ in the Burkesfield community in Old Harbour Bay.

Luckily the victim survived the attack after being shot in the abdomen, while the men made good their escape on foot.

Since then investigators have been meticulous in piecing together several key material evidence which has caused Brown and Henry to report to the police. Both men charged reside in Old Harbour Bay, however, Henry has claimed to now reside in Portland Cottage, Clarendon.

As for the other men implicated in the shooting, investigators say they are not yet ready to release their identities as the probe is at a crucial stage.
