Free Town Foundation aims to distribute 400 backpacks

That small act of kindness planted a seed that has grown into something extraordinary.

Today, the Free Town Foundation has transformed countless lives through their Holiday Hope initiative, bringing joy not only to children but also to seniors and struggling families who receive essential groceries and toiletries when they need it most.

“We've equipped thousands of students with backpacks and school supplies, setting them up for success in the classroom. Through our health fairs, we've provided vital medical care to those who might otherwise go without—a doctor's visit that could literally save a life,” shared Director Cecelia Campbell Livingston.

On August 15, the foundation will be hosting its annual Back to School and Health Fair event with the goal of distributing 400 backpacks with school supplies.

It is with this in mind that the foundation is making an appeal for sponsors and well-wishers to buy into the cause by supporting it via several ways.

“We have an Amazon registry where school supplies can be purchased; those will be shipped to Jamaica. Also, there is a GoFundMe where donations will ensure money is in place to buy additional supplies and cover shipping costs to Jamaica and also clear the shipment when it gets here. It will also cover the cost for the December event,” she informed.

The Free Town Foundation was created as an outlet for the Miracle Tabernacle Free Town Church of God of Prophecy to deliver more tangible services to those in the church and community at large. The primary purposes of the Foundation are to make a difference in the lives of people in Free Town and surrounding environs through outreach efforts and to work with other outreach groups and partners to help alleviate some of the many needs through a feeding program, back-to-school assistance, and a wellness programme.
