The braches, which include Christiana, Cross Roads, Hagley Park, Ironshore, Oxford Road, Port Maria, St Ann’s Bay and the University of the West Indies, will remain temporarily closed from the effective date “until further notice”.

In a statement the island’s second largest commercial bank said: “As we continue to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation, we are taking important steps to keep customers and employees safe.

“Scotiabank, Scotia Insurance and Scotia Investment will be temporarily closing some branch locations.

“We will also be making changes to our contact centre operations as a result of the curfew now in place.”

It added: “All other branches will remain open at this time but will only facilitate transactions that cannot be conducted using one of our self-service channels.

“We strongly encourage customers to sign up for online and mobile banking and to utilise ABMs to conduct any necessary transactions.

“Due to the current islandwide curfew in place, there will be changes to our contact centre support. Full service will be offered between the hours of 8:00 am and 6:00 pm. After 6:00 pm and up to 8:00 am we will only be able to facilitate calls for online or mobile banking support and lost or stolen cards.”
