The Electoral Office of Jamaica (EOJ) is reminding eligible citizens that the deadline to register for the May 31, 2026 publication of the national voters’ list is fast approaching. Applications must be submitted by Tuesday, March 31.

All Jamaican citizens aged 18 years and older, as well as Commonwealth citizens who have resided in Jamaica for at least 12 consecutive months, are encouraged to apply before the closing date. Registration is free of charge.

Prospective voters are required to apply in person at any EOJ constituency office across the island. Applicants are advised to wear bright or dark-coloured clothing to ensure their photograph is taken properly. Following the in-office application, an EOJ verification team will visit the applicant’s home to confirm residency before the application is processed.

The EOJ is urging individuals who are already on the Voters’ List not to re-apply. However, electors who have not yet collected their renewed identification cards are asked to do so at their convenience.

The voters’ list is published twice annually, on May 31 and November 30. Voter identification cards for those added to the May 2026 list will be distributed in June.
