He is 28-year-old Kenmore Duncan otherwise called ‘Bryan Bwoi’ of Seaview Gardens, Kingston 11.

Duncan, who is unemployed, is one of two men implicated in the November 9, 2023 murder of Marlon Warmington.

Warmington, 44, was gunned down by men on a motorbike while walking along the roadway in his native community.

The alleged gunmen, fitting the description given by residents, were chased and challenged during a shootout by a team of officers along a section of the Highway 2000 (PJ Patterson Highway) toll road in the vicinity of Sharper Lane.

One of the men was fatally shot while the other was arrested and placed in custody. The deceased remains unidentified, the police informed Old Harbour News.

A month on since the incident occurred, chief investigator at the Old Harbour Police Station, Detective Inspector Carl Morris, said Duncan has been charged with shooting with intent and prohibition of an illegal weapon in relation to the shootout with the police.

It is important to note that the accused has not been charged with the murder of Warmington, as that aspect of the investigation is ongoing, Morris told Old Harbour News.

A court date for Duncan is being finalized.

Meantime, the family of Warmington is still waiting on the state to hand over custody of the body to proceed with funeral arrangements.

On the day he was murdered, Warmington was scheduled to return the following day to the United States where he lives with his wife and daughter.

Detective Inspector Morris says a motive for the killing is yet to be established.
