The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), St. Catherine South Division, has launched a decisive new public awareness campaign aimed at clearing a significant backlog of outstanding warrants in the Old Harbour area. Under the banner "Warrant Alert”, the Old Harbour Sub-Division is urging individuals with pending legal matters to surrender themselves immediately, as authorities prepare to process over 500 outstanding warrants.

The initiative, titled "Make Your Move Now”, is designed to offer a safe, professional, and contact-free environment for individuals to settle their legal obligations before law enforcement resort to proactive measures.

In a statement accompanying the campaign, the constabulary emphasized the importance of taking personal responsibility. "Do you have an outstanding warrant to settle?" the advisory reads. "Avoid unnecessary disruption and detention. Take the right step today in a safe, contact-free professional setting."

The JCF highlighted that the Old Harbour Police Station is fully equipped to handle the processing of these warrants. Officers on site are reportedly ready to assist individuals through the administrative process, aiming to reduce the friction often associated with arrests.

The campaign adopts a tone of civic duty and community partnership. With the slogan "Together for Your Better”, the police force is attempting to bridge the gap between law enforcement and residents who may be avoiding the station out of fear or uncertainty.

"We are encouraging persons to make their move now," said Sgt. Princess Bayliss-Ranger at the Old Harbour Police Station. "Our humble station is here to process."

“We prefer to do this in a dignified manner, so please if you know you have an outstanding matter before the court and let us have a civil conversation and the right solution.”

Sgt Bayliss-Ranger said the warrants range from traffic violations, assault, child maintenance, littering, illegal vending, and malicious destruction of property.

Individuals who believe they may have an outstanding warrant are urged to contact the station immediately to arrange a safe resolution.

Authorities warn that failing to voluntarily settle these matters will result in active enforcement and inevitable detention. The JCF advises the public to act now to avoid disruption to their daily lives.
