They have been identified as 24 years old Sachone Haynes alias ‘Cake Soap’ and his younger brother Shamar Blackwood, 21, both of the same Old Harbour Mews address.

According to the police about 5:20.pm Haynes and Blackwood were standing along Seaview Drive East in the community when armed men alighted from a white Toyota Probox and started shooting at them.

The brothers attempted to run away from their attackers but were chased and shot multiple times.

The action was a clear hit on the men who were pronounced dead at the Spanish Town Hospital while undergoing surgery, an officer told Old Harbour News. A total of 11 spent casings and one bullet fragment were recovered at the scene.

According to further information gleaned by Old Harbour News, it is alleged that the assassination of both men may be linked to their possible association with the notorious Spanish Town-based Klansman gang.

It is understood that the brothers are originally from Spanish Town but migrated to Old Harbour due to internal gang war between men aligned to alleged leader Tesha Miller and usurper Andre ‘Blackman’ Bryan, the purported head of the defected One Don gang. Miller is currently serving 38 years prison sentence for murder, while Bryan who was once a top lieutenant of Miller, remains in police custody facing several charges under the anti-gang legislation.

Men connected to Klansman and One Don gangs have been engaged in a bloody battle for several years with more than 200 lives loss in the bloodletting.

Yesterday’s shooting left the quiet Old Harbour News community on edge as residents remain tight-lipped, as not much is said to be known of the deceased brothers.

A video captured on a mobile phone showed residents making desperate attempt to help the injured men at the time. “Keep the pressure on his neck, keep the pressure on his neck,” one woman shouted instructions to another man as one of the victims bled profusely.

They were placed in a marked police jeep and transported to the hospital where they later died.

Not much is known about the deceased, except that Haynes is said to be a mason while Blackwood is unemployed.

Investigation continues.
