47 babies rescued: Jamaican pro-life group honours late Dr. Haywood Robinson

In a press release, the organisation announced that 46 women have been spared the trauma of abortion through their intervention. One woman, who was unaware she was carrying twins, was among those who chose life. The ministry also reported that four mothers, one father, and one grandmother have given their lives to Jesus Christ as a direct result of the outreach.

The work in Jamaica was jumpstarted in 2023 by 40 Days for Life International, who sent two representatives, including Dr. Haywood Robinson. A former abortionist who became a passionate pro-life speaker and author, Dr. Robinson passed away on July 25, 2026.

In its statement, the Love March Movement said on behalf of the pro-life community in Jamaica: "We extend heartfelt condolences to his family and friends, and to the entire 40 Days for Life International community."

Dr. Robinson served as director of Medical Affairs and Education for 40 Days for Life. Described as a "pro-life giant”, he was radically saved from a career as an abortionist and transformed into a defender of the unborn, travelling the world to share his testimony.

In 2023, he came to Jamaica to help strengthen the inaugural 40 Days for Life Kingston Campaign, which was dedicated to rescuing women and their babies from abortion and offering hope, support, and care to women facing crisis pregnancies.

"His joyous spirit, love for the Lord, passion for justice, and dedication to life will live on in our hearts and in our work," the movement stated. "We do not mourn as those who have no hope, but knowing that he is now absent from the body and present with the Lord."

Friends for Life reaches women in crisis pregnancies through in-person referrals, Google searches for pregnancy-help services in Jamaica, and social media contact. The organisation develops an individualized support plan for each woman, providing holistic care that includes gospel sharing, discipleship, mentorship, physical and financial assistance, emergency housing, groceries, baby supplies, and help with finding employment.

The women are engaged with the plan for one year, with adjustments made according to changing circumstances. Additionally, the group offers job assistance, workshops, and support for other children as needed, empowering mothers to choose life and thrive.
